We offer plenty of charming ways to announce your registry at MyRegistry.com. You can use our eCard announcements, printable cards, or browse our ‘Shop for Invitations’ section to choose from a wide variety of well-designed invitations you can mail for just about every event in your future. To send an eCard, you must login to your MyRegistry.com account. Click the ‘THINGS TO DO' tab located at the top menu and choose ‘Spread the Word’ to see all of the great ways you can announce your registry!

To send out eCards, choose your design and then click the 'Continue' button to begin making your contact list. You can create your contact list using three convenient options: you can import contacts from your email address book, upload contacts from your social network, or enter email addresses manually. Feel free to use all of these features to make sure all of your friends and family are included on the list. After creating your contact list, you are ready to send your eCards to everyone!

Can I keep my registry even after my event is over?
Yes! With MyRegistry.com, you can continue to add gifts as often as you like, even after your event is over. Since your registry is free, we usually advise members to keep their registry open even after the event they initially registered for has passed. You can update and change your registry type at any time, so your Wedding Registry can easily switch to a Baby Registry down the road. Your registry at MyRegistry.com works for any gift-giving occasion, and in your hectic life there are always special events and holidays on the horizon.

My guests are not computer savvy. Will they be able to use MyRegistry.com?
We find that using MyRegistry.com is so simple, even people who are not comfortable with their computers can easily master the site. To purchase a gift, all they need to do is click on it and they'll be immediately directed to the website where the item can be bought. All of the details are already taken care of for them. From there, your guests need to simply add the item to their shopping cart and check out. People who aren't comfortable shopping online can ask anyone to print a gift list off of our site to be purchased at a store, although it's certainly more convenient to buy the gift online. After a gift is purchased in a store, it needs to be marked on the site as ‘Purchased’ to keep the registry updated. That can be done by anyone, even you. Select ‘Marking Gifts as Purchased’ from the menu above to learn more.

I never received an activation email. Can I still login to my account?
*Please note: Your account must be activated first before you can login and start using our service.

After you create an account with MyRegistry.com, you’ll then be directed to a page that indicates an activation e-mail has just been sent to you. To activate your account, you’ll need to check your e-mail after signing up. You should see a message from MyRegistry.com giving you information about our services and the link that you need to click on to finish the activation process.

The activation e-mail will be sent to your inbox right away. If you’ve waited a few minutes and still have not received the activation e-mail try checking your Spam folder. If not there either, contact customercare@MyRegistry.com and we’ll help you right away with activating your account.

I’m throwing a surprise party for my friend. How can I create a registry for them without them knowing about it?
You can easily create a surprise gift registry. When you sign up, use their name to create the account, but enter your own contact information (e-mail address, username, password, etc.). This way, any information about the registry, such as purchased gifts, will be sent directly to you.

I created a Wedding Registry on MyRegistry.com a while ago. Can I change it to a Baby Registry now?
Yes, you can update your registry as your life changes. Turn your registry from bridal to baby, birthday to housewarming, and find a design perfect for your event and your lifestyle. To change your registry type, login to your account and click on the ‘THINGS TO DO’ tab located on the top menu bar and choose ‘Edit Your Registry Type’ from the drop down menu. You'll be offered many different registry types to choose from that match your new event. You can even choose ‘Other’ and create your own type to fit what’s best for you!

MyRegistry.com offers a multitude of ways to customize your registry, from our ever-growing choice of stylish designs, the freedom to customize your welcome page, to the ability to upload pictures and video to share with your guests. Feel free to change these features as often as you like.

It is completely free to open and view a registry at MyRegistry.com. Our members and their guests have access to nearly all of our services at no cost, with the exception of our optional Cash Gift Service. Some low fees apply to members and guests using this service (you can access more information by clicking on ‘Receiving Cash Gifts’ and ‘Giving Cash Gifts’ near the top of this page).

How do I tell my friends and family that I've set up a registry at MyRegistry.com?
Use our convenient eCards, printable announcements, or our wide selection of invitations from excellent suppliers to inform your friends and family about your upcoming event. Our eCards come in many stylish designs to reflect you and your occasion and inside them includes a link to MyRegistry.com. Simply login to your account, click the ‘THINGS TO DO’ tab and choose ‘Spread the Word!’. When choosing eCards, you’ll have the option of entering each e-mail address manually, uploading your address book from your e-mail provider, or importing your contacts from your social network. You can keep track of who you've sent eCards to by clicking 'View history of eCards sent' located near the top of that same page.

How do my visitors see what gifts I have listed on my registry?
Your visitors can find your registry using our 'FIND A REGISTRY’ feature, located on the top of the MyRegistry.com homepage. To search your registry, they'll need to enter your first and last name in the indicated fields. After being directed to your registry, guests will be able to view your gift list instantly.

You may also view your registry as a guest. Simply login to your account and click the "See what your visitors see" link located near the top right side of your member page.

Can I find out who has visited my registry?
You can find out how many people visited your registry weekly and daily. All you have to do is login to your account and these statistics are displayed right on your Member Welcome Page in the ‘REGISTRY STATISTICS’ box. You can also check how many eCards you've sent, whom you’ve sent them to, and how many people opened them. On your Member Welcome Page you can view these under ‘eCards MANAGEMENT’.

Multiple Registries

If I already have a registry at another store (like Babies R Us or Target), how will that work with MyRegistry.com?
MyRegistry.com completely eliminates the need for registries at specific stores. For example, instead of registering with Babies “R” Us and selecting all of your gifts from that store, you can choose some items from Babies “R” Us, some items from Target, and some items from The Children's Place and with one click add the products from all of these stores to your registry at MyRegistry.com! After you add these items, go to a different store, find another item you desire and add it to your registry, as well. Add as many items as you wish, from as many stores as you like, all under one centralized, and easy-to-use registry. You can even list an offline gift from the local shop around the corner!

Our service does not support the automatic combination of existing registries. We recommend that our members add all of the items from their existing registries to MyRegistry.com. Once you add your items to MyRegistry.com, we suggest avoiding using other registries to prevent duplicate purchasing.

Is it possible to have more than one registry at MyRegistry.com using the same account information? I already have a Baby Registry and I would like to create a Personal Registry without deleting the Baby Registry.
We do not recommend having two registries under the same exact name because it creates confusion for your guests when trying to locate the correct registry.

To create the appearance of more than one registry, simply categorize the gifts in your existing registry. Create a category called "Baby Shower" and move all the items related to baby under that category. Then add another category and label it something like "For Me" if you are looking to make a Personal Registry.

To create a category on your registry, log in to your account and click the ‘Manage your gifts’ link located in your ‘REGISTRY STATISTICS’ box. Then click the ‘Edit Gift Categories’ link on the left-side menu. You will then be directed to a page that allows you to create new category titles (example: "For Me"). Please make sure you click the ‘Add Category’ button when you are done.

When you add a new item to your registry, you have the option of selecting a category for that item so that it will automatically appear under the chosen category. In the 'Add this Gift' window, simply choose the category (from the 'Category' drop-down list) before adding the gift to your registry. This will save that item in the designated category. If you choose to keep items in the 'Private' category, your guests will not be able to view them.

To move an existing item on your registry to a different category, simply log in to your account, select 'Manage you gifts', find the item and click the 'Edit’ button in that row. In the edit gift page, select the new category from the drop-down list and click 'Save Changes'. Now that item will appear under the category you chose.

I have two accounts at MyRegistry.com. How will my guests know to view the right registry?
We do not recommend having two registries under the same exact name because it creates confusion for your guests when trying to locate the correct registry. If you would like to cancel one of your accounts please contact us through e-mail at customercare@myregistry.com and specify the exact name, username, and password of the account you would like to cancel.

More than one person in my household has an account on MyRegistry.com. When I try to add gifts to my account, the gifts are added to the account of a family member who uses the same computer. How can I make sure my gifts are added to the right account?
If more than one person in your household has a MyRegistry.com account and you're using the same computer to manage those accounts (or even if you, personally, have more than one account), there's no need to install additional 'Add to MyRegistry.com' buttons on your browser to make certain that you're adding gifts to the right registry.

When you're ready to add a gift to your registry, click the 'Add to My Registry.com' button, but make sure you're logged in to the account you want to add gifts to. On the top of the page that opens up you will see the name of the account holder. If you wish to add gifts to a different account than the name you see, simply click the ‘Not “Name, Click Here”' link. You'll be asked to login to the right account and from there you can easily add gifts to the correct registry.

Naming your registry

How do I add another name to my registry?
Please login to your account and click the ‘THINGS TO DO’ tab, and then choose ‘Update Profile and Password’. Next, select ‘Update Your Personal Information’. Underneath your personal information you will see an option to ‘ADD ANOTHER NAME’ to your account if the registry is shared. Simply type in the name and click on the ‘Update’ button at the bottom of the page to save your changes.

Why is it important that I use my real first and last name when creating my registry?
We highly suggest that when you create a registry you use your first name and last name rather than something like ‘The Smiths’. Doing so would make it difficult for your guests to find your registry, because most likely they will not type ‘The’ in the name search box.

If your registry is for more than one person, you can easily add another name. Please login to your account and under the ‘THINGS TO DO’ section, and click on ‘Update Profile and Password’. Choose ‘Update Your Personal Information’ from the menu. Underneath your personal information you will see an option to ‘ADD ANOTHER NAME’ to your account if the registry is shared. Simply type in the name and click on the ‘Update’ button at the bottom to save your changes.

I live outside of the USA. Can I create an international registry?
Yes! MyRegistry.com is the ultimate international registry because you can select items from any store in the world. Although our company is based in the United States, we have members from many different countries. With MyRegistry.com, your registry is truly global.

Go to the website of any store on the globe you're interested in, find the item you desire, and with one click add it to your registry. After you add an item from one store, you can go to any other store, like Amazon.com, find another item you like and add it to your registry, as well. Add as many items as you wish, from as many stores as you like, all under one centralized, beautifully-designed, and easy-to-use registry. You can even add an offline gift from the shop around the corner. Because our registry site truly harnesses the power of the global marketplace, MyRegistry.com eliminates the need for you to open up any other registries!

Keep in mind that your guests purchase gifts for you directly from the stores included in your registry, so it is important to confirm shipping policies of the stores you include to make sure they ship to your country. For example, if you add gifts from stores which ship items to the U.K., your guests will have no problem shipping your gifts to the U.K. To post your shipping address on your registry login to your account, click the ‘THINGS TO DO’ tab, choose ‘Update Profile and Password’, and then click ‘Add/Edit your Shipping Information’. Make sure to save all your updated shipping information.

Can my guests use international credit cards to buy gifts for me at MyRegistry.com?
If some of your guests are from other countries, whenever possible you should add gifts from global retailers (like Amazon.com) who accept credit cards from anywhere in the world. Since MyRegistry.com is not the store that your guests are purchasing from but rather the service that directs them to the stores on your registry, we're unable to dictate the rules that each store has regarding international credit cards. If an international guest is having trouble purchasing a gift, we'll do our best to assist them in finding the same item from a store that will accept their credit card. Please explain your issue and the title & price of the gift in an e-mail to customercare@myregistry.com.

Receiving Cash Gifts

Can I register for cash?
Yes, at MyRegistry.com, you have the option to set up multiple Cash Gift Funds on your registry. You can create cash gift funds for all of those big ticket items you desire! This will allow your friends and family to easily send you cash gifts by using a credit card, bank wire, or their PayPal account. * Please note that when it comes to product purchases made at MyRegistry.com, we accept AMEX, Visa, and Mastercard.

What is a Cash Gift Fund?
A Cash Gift Fund is an optional feature on MyRegistry.com that enables you to tastefully register for cash gifts. You can name and customize your special cash fund (like ‘Honeymoon Fund’ or ‘Textbooks Fund’), and it is housed on your registry with the rest of your gifts. Guests can contribute a minimum of $25 and up to a maximum of $1,000 to your fund using a credit card, bank wire, or their PayPal account. * Please note that when it comes to product purchases made at MyRegistry.com, we accept AMEX, Visa, and Mastercard.

Your special cash gift account is operated by PayPal in conjunction with MyRegistry.com. PayPal is a secure and easy way to send money from one person to another. PayPal’s services are available to anyone with an e-mail address. Recipients can connect their PayPal account to their bank account, transfer their balance, or just make payments from their PayPal account. Through PayPal, your special Cash Gift Account is as good as having cash.

How much does it cost to set up a Cash Gift Fund?
There is no charge to activate your Cash Gift Fund. MyRegistry.com does not charge members any fees to open or maintain a special cash gift account. However, PayPal charges a low transaction fee each time monies are transferred into your cash gift account. The maximum transaction fee for a US member is 2.9% +$0.30 per transaction (i.e. $3.20 for a $100 contribution to your cash gift account). For international members, please see PayPal’s Terms and Conditions.

To cover the costs involved in the Cash Gift service, MyRegistry.com assesses a handling fee to complete all Cash Gift Fund transactions. Once this fee has been processed, MyRegistry.com seamlessly redirects you to PayPal to complete your cash gift transaction. The MyRegistry.com handling fee will appear as a separate transaction on your monthly billing statement.

How do I sign up for a Cash Gift Fund?
You have the option to set up your Cash Gift Fund as soon as you open an account with MyRegistry.com. If you are already a MyRegistry.com member, simply login to your account, and click on the ‘Manage your gifts’ link. You will then need to click the ‘Activate’ link that is on the same line as the Cash Gift Fund. You then go to a page that asks if you already have a PayPal account. If yes, you can enter your information in. If not, you can enter an email address to be connected to your fund. When finished, click the ‘Activate’ link and you will soon receive a verification e-mail. Follow the simple instructions in the e-mail in order for your Cash Gift Fund to properly activate. If you get lost or have trouble, our customer care team will be obliged to help. Just e-mail us at customercare@myregistry.com and tell us about your problem.

You can customize your cash gift account name and change the notes under it at any time. Simply login to your account and click on the ‘Manage your gifts’ link. You’ll then be directed to your gift list. Click on ‘Edit’ on the same line as your cash gift, make your adjustments, and click on the ‘Save Changes’ button and you’re done!

How do I receive or withdraw the money contributed to my Cash Gift Fund?
When your guests contribute money to your Cash Gift Fund, MyRegistry.com automatically directs them to your PayPal account. Please note that to receive money through PayPal’s system, your PayPal account must be verified. If you have not yet received a verification e-mail with Pay Pal you can have it resent to you.

To take money out of your cash gift fund, you must access your PayPal account. Simply go to PayPal.com, login, and take out the amount (half or all, you choose).

How do I know when a guest has contributed money to my Cash Gift Fund?
To view the contribution details of your Cash Gift Fund, login to your MyRegistry.com account and click the ‘CASH GIFTS’ tab at the top of the page. Select ‘Edit Your Cash Gifts’. If someone has contributed to your cash gift fund, you will see the name and amount of the contribution under the ‘Purchased By’ column. The contributor provides the information about his/her cash gift. If the visitor wants to personally notify you of their contribution, they have the option to send you an eCard through MyRegistry.com.

You can opt in to receive an e-mail or a Text Messaging Gift Alert every time a gift is purchased on your registry. Simply login to your account and click the ‘THINGS TO DO’ tab at the top of the page. Scroll down the menu and select ‘Update Profile and Password’, and choose ‘Update Your Personal Information’. Under ‘Your Personal Information’ section you can choose to receive e-mail alerts when a gift is bought. Under the ‘Text Messaging Gift Alert’ section you can choose to receive a text message on your cellular phone when someone has purchased a gift. How do I make changes or edit the information on my Cash Gift Fund?
To make changes or edit the information on your Cash Gift Fund, login to your MyRegistry.com account and click the ‘CASH GIFTS’ tab at the top of the page. Select ‘Edit Your Cash Gifts’. Click on the ‘Edit’ link located by the Cash Gift Fund you’d like to make changes to. Then you can upload a new picture, edit the text, etc. Please make sure to click on the ‘Save Changes’ tab to save your changes.

Can I delete my Cash Gift Fund?
MyRegistry.com created its patent-pending Cash Gift Fund to be available anytime you wish to use it. As a result, you cannot completely delete this feature; however you can deactivate the account so that your guests are unable to see your Cash Gift Fund or make contributions to it. To deactivate your Cash Gift Fund, login to MyRegistry.com, click the ‘CASH GIFTS’ tab, and choose ‘Edit Your Cash Gifts’. Click on the ‘Deactivate’ option by the Cash Gift Fund you’d like to deactivate.

I opened up a Cash Gift Fund and it does not appear on my registry. Why?
You have the option to set up your Cash Gift Fund as soon as you open an account with MyRegistry.com. If you are already a MyRegistry.com member, simply login to your account, and click on the ‘Manage your gifts’ tab located in your ‘REGISTRY STATISTICS’ box. You will then need to click the ‘Activate’ link that is on the same line as the Cash Gift Fund. Once you click to activate you will receive a verification e-mail. Follow the simple instructions in the e-mail in order for your Cash Gift Fund to properly activate.

Once you’ve completed activating your cash gift fund and confirming your account through the verification e-mail with Pay Pal, your special cash fund should appear on your registry within 24 hours. If it does not, please contact us by e-mail at customercare@myregistry.com.

Can I change the email address used on my Cash Gift Fund?
To change the PayPal email associated with your Cash Gift Fund, simply login to your account, go to 'Cash Gifts' at the top of the page and select 'Edit Your Cash Gifts'. Then click the 'Edit' link next to your cash gift and on that page select 'Change my PayPal email address', update your email and click the 'Send' button. Once you get that email and verify it, your Cash Gift will be active again on your account.

If you did not activate your Cash Gift Fund at sign-up, MyRegistry.com automatically links the Cash Gift Fund with the email address that you provided at registry sign-up. To change this email address, simply login to MyRegistry.com, and click the ‘Manage your gifts’ tab. Click the ‘Activate’ button on the same line as your Cash Gift Fund, and follow the ‘Change my PayPal email address’ link. Enter the email address that you wish to use, and click the ‘send’ button.

Can I set up more than one Cash Gift Fund on my registry?
Yes, you can have multiple Cash Gift Funds! Simply login to your account and click on the ‘CASH GIFTS’ tab, and then choose, ‘Edit Your Cash Gifts’. To start activating a new fund, click on the ‘Add New’ link by your existing Cash Gift Fund. That secondary cash gift fund will be connected with your primary cash gift account you hold with PayPal.

Can I give a cash gift through MyRegistry.com?
Yes! It is easy to give a cash gift to any MyRegistry.com member that has activated their special Cash Gift Fund. When you are viewing a member’s registry, click the ‘Give a Cash Gift’ button by their fund and follow the instructions. You will be directed to a separate page that will enable you to securely send a cash gift by providing your billing address, payment information, and cash gift amount.

How do I contribute money to a Cash Gift fund?
Once you have located a member’s Cash Gift Fund, click the ‘Give a Cash Gift’ button to begin the process. MyRegistry.com’s Cash Gift giving process works in conjunction with PayPal. To alleviate the costs involved with cash gifts, MyRegistry.com charges a modest handling fee. Before you can continue to PayPal, MyRegistry.com will prompt you to enter your billing information. Once we have processed your handling fee, you will be seamlessly redirected to PayPal, where you can easily send your cash gift using PayPal, Credit Card, or Bank wire.

Are there any restrictions on the amount I can contribute to a Cash Gift Fund?
Cash Gift Funds provide gift givers and receivers an enormous amount of freedom; however there is a $25.00 minimum cash gift contribution. Additionally, a visitor cannot contribute more than $1,000.00 to a Cash Gift Fund during any one transaction. There are no limitations on the number of transactions a guest can make.

Are there any fees when giving a Cash Gift?
To cover the costs involved in the Cash Gift Service, MyRegistry.com assesses a modest handling fee to complete all Cash Gift Fund transactions. The MyRegistry.com handling fee will appear as a separate transaction on your monthly billing statement. As a courtesy to organizations and charities, MyRegistry.com will charge a flat handling fee of $2.00 to visitors, regardless of the cash gift amount. The minimum and maximum dollar amounts still apply for cash gifts made to organizations and charities.

MyRegistry.com’s Cash Gift Fund works in conjunction with PayPal, the most trusted name in online fund transfer. When you send a cash gift, you are sending it to a PayPal account that has been opened and verified by the registry holder. This means that all funds will go directly into an account that the member has specified. Upon sending a cash gift, you will receive two confirmation emails: the MyRegistry.com confirmation email ensures that we have received your cash gift contribution request, and the confirmation email from PayPal states that your cash gift has been delivered to the correct account.

Securing your Registry with a password

Should I set up a visitor’s password?
When you add a visitor’s password to your registry, only your guests can view your registry. Your account is always secure even without a password, (no one can edit it, cancel it or change any information), but if you choose not to add a password, then anyone can easily view your registry. They cannot add, change or delete items on your registry, but they can mark a gift as 'Purchased', view your photos, event information, shipping address, or any other information you post on your registry for your guests. That's why we highly recommend adding a visitor's password to your registry.

Scroll down to ‘Update Profile and Password’ and select ‘Add/Edit Your Visitor’s Password’. You’ll be taken to your Edit Profile page. When you are finished, remember to click the ‘Update’ button on the bottom to save your changes.

What happens if a visitor does not remember my password?
When your visitor locates your registry through ‘Find a Registry’, they can request the password by filling in their name and e-mail address in the indicated fields. This option sends a request to your e-mail so you can provide your password to that guest.

How do I tell my friends that I added or changed my visitor’s password?
You can alert your friends and family about your visitor’s password or any updates regarding your event by using our custom-designed eCards.

To send out eCards, first login to your MyRegistry.com account. Click on the ‘THINGS TO DO' tab located at the top menu and choose ‘Spread the Word!’. There you will see an option where you can select ‘Send eCards’.

When creating your eCards, you first need to choose a design, and then click the 'Continue' button to begin making your contact list. You can create your contact list using three convenient options: you can import contacts from your e-mail address book, upload contacts from your social network, or enter e-mail addresses manually. Feel free to use all of these features to make sure all of your friends and family are included on the list. After creating your contact list, the next step is to personalize the message in your announcement, or you can use our prewritten gift registry announcement already there. When you are satisfied with the message simply click on the ‘Send’ button on the right and your announcement will be sent!

I don't know my friend’s password. How can I view their registry?
When you click the ‘Go to Registry’ button and are asked to enter a password, it means that your friend has a password securing their registry. If you don't know your friend's password, please fill in the required fields (name and e-mail) to request the password and click 'Send'. The registry holder will receive an e-mail notifying them of your request.

Can my guests view my registry without a password?
Your guests and anyone else that searches your name will be able to view your registry. It's your choice whether or not to have a visitor’s password. MyRegistry.com recommends having a visitor's password to protect your registry from unauthorized people entering.

If you no longer wish to have a visitor’s password, you can easily cancel it. Simply login to your account and click on the ‘THINGS TO DO’ tab from the top menu. Scroll down to ‘Update Profile and Password’ and select ‘Add/Edit Your Visitor’s Password’. You’ll be taken to your Edit Profile page. If you look on the right side under ‘Your Personal Info’ you will see an option where you can create/modify/delete your visitor’s password. When you are finished, remember to click the ‘Update’ button on the bottom to save your changes.

How do I add an item to my registry?
Adding gifts to your registry is easy. Whenever you come across an item on an Internet site that you'd like to add, simply press the ‘Add to MyRegistry’ button that can be easily installed onto your browser menu. A new window should pop up that will prompt you to login and type in the details of the item you're adding. Then, press the ‘Add to MyRegistry’ button and the item you've chosen will be automatically added to your registry.
